The disappointing result in Rothwell shows that this year it’s mainly our core Labour voters. The national trend has meant that those who voted Labour whilst we were under Tony Blair’s leadership don’t currently have the same confidence in Gordon Brown as Prime Minister. The 10p tax issue hasn’t helped and it is something that I’m not prepared to defend as I don’t think you can so I was urging people to vote on local issues which is what local elections should be about. However, the Lib Dems lies (see previous post) hit us hard.
