Rothwell traffic to be measured for speed

I have arranged to hire the SID (speed indicating device) this week and next to use to measure the speed of passing cars on some of Rothwell’s busiest roads. On this occassion, it is for use as part of the Leeds and Wakefield Road Residents Action Group campaign. Myself and Trish Bromilow did the training yesterday morning and will be starting the exercise today.  The SID highlights to motorists the speed they are travelling at and if they aren’t speeding flashes a smiley face. If, however, they are driving above the speed limit, a frowning face is shown. We will be recording traffic travelling at various speeds and will be using the information to help us in our call for action to stop the speeding vehicles and lorries using our roads as a rat run once and for all.
