Hilary Benn launches Rothwell local election campaign

I’m delighted that Hilary Benn came to Rothwell on Friday evening to get the Rothwell Labour Party local election campaign off in full swing! It’s great that Hilary gave us his support by speaking at our fundraising dinner, which was held at the Dewan Indian Restaurant in Rothwell. Hilary gave an excellent speech about the history of the Labour Party and brought along copies of the minutes of the first ever Labour Party meeting 100 years ago for members to take away.

I’m now the official Labour Party candidate for the local elections on Thursday 4 May. Having already campaigned all year round on behalf of local residents on issues such as the grass cutting privatisation fiasco, fighting local bus service cuts, road safety issues and spearheading the campaign to keep the public helpdesk open at Rothwell police station. I think residents realise that I’m a campaigner on local issues and will continue to fight on local issues that are important to local people.

Wish me luck!
